COPPA Policy

To create an account for a child to use Sage, a parent must provide:

• The child's first name
• The child's age and gender

As a child uses Sage, we collect learning progress data to personalize their educational experience and track their development.

We may use that learning progress data to create reports for an authorized parent and to answer the parent's questions about the child's learning through reply-enabled email or optional text messaging. A parent's messages may also add information about the child to the private parent-messaging transcript.

We do not collect more personal information about a child than is reasonably necessary for the child to use the Sage Services.

We use technology to automatically collect information from our users, including children, when they access and use Sage. The information we collect through these technologies may include:

• Persistent identifiers, such as the IP address, that can be used to recognize a user over time
• Browser and device information
• Actions while using Sage, including log-in time and activity data

We do not combine non-personal information we collect through these technologies with personal information about you or your child.

We use the personal information we collect about your child to:

• Enable your child to use Sage
• Provide personalized educational content
• Maintain a record of your child's learning progress
• Understand how students access and use Sage
• Improve the Sage Services
• Provide learning reports and answer an authorized parent's questions about the child's learning

Sage sends child learning information only to a parent contact that is authorized for the family. Reply-enabled email conversations are private to the exact parent who received the report. Optional text messaging requires the signed-in parent to provide a phone number, separately consent, and confirm control of that number before Sage sends child-specific information.

Sage may use an artificial-intelligence provider to process the parent's question, relevant conversation history, and the authorized child learning context needed to answer. Email, text delivery, and mobile-network providers process the content and routing information needed to deliver those messages. We do not authorize these providers to use the information for their own marketing.

Parents may disable text messaging in Parent Controls or by replying STOP. They may also ask us to review or delete their child's personal information as described below.

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer children's personal data other than as described in this section.

The following core vendors process children's data to provide live learning sessions, learning reports, and parent messaging:

We may disclose anonymized or aggregated data about our users, including children. In addition, we may disclose children's personal data:

• If we are required to do so by law or legal process, such as to comply with any court order or subpoena or to respond to any government or regulatory request
• If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sage, our customers or others, including to protect the safety of a child
• To law enforcement agencies or for an investigation related to public safety

In addition, if Sage is involved in a merger, restructuring, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Sage's assets, we may transfer the personal data we have collected to the buyer or other successor.

At any time, you may:

• Review your child's personal information maintained by us
• Require us to correct or delete the personal information
• Refuse to permit us from using the child's information

You can review, change, or delete your child's personal information by sending us an email at support@sageteacher.ai. To protect your privacy and security, we may require you to take certain steps or provide additional information to verify your identity before we provide any information or make corrections. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to respond to your request within thirty (30) days.

We retain a child's personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and protect the Sage Services and fulfill the specific purpose for which it was collected. We then delete it using reasonable measures, subject to narrow legal obligations and protected-backup deletion cycles.

Parent email and text transcripts that contain child learning information are removed through the parent or family account-deletion process. Any minimal SMS consent or suppression evidence retained to document a parent's communication choice does not contain message bodies or child learning content.

We may update this COPPA policy from time to time. If we intend to make a material change in the collection, use, or disclosure practices with respect to a child's previously-collected personal information to which a parent has previously consented, we will contact the parent by email to obtain consent. The date this policy was last updated is identified at the top of this page.

The policies indicated in this COPPA policy will remain effective, even if our agreements are terminated and you are no longer using Sage.
